When you became you?

Awhile ago I watched a movie called Mothers and Daughters, If you are either of these it's a must see. It goes through a few views of the different roles a mother and a daughter can play. It is full of truth and not fluff, my favorite kind of movie! The movie starts with one simple statement - "Dear Mom, Do you ever wonder about the moment you became you?"

This question suggest that there was a moment in time that we became something different or new or maybe she is talking about when we become adults. When I heard the question I thought of three times in my life- First a new boss telling me I can choose who I want to be starting now. Second a friend praying for me when I was not doing well. Third was reading “Girl Wash your Face” this book spoke to me in a new way! (SERIOUSLY BUY THE BOOK)

These moments 100% changed who I was, they pushed me in a different direction, but most of all they really were the moments I took a step closer to who I really was. I believe we are created by God and he doesn't make mistake but I also believe we have free will and we make mistakes. With that, life isn't perfect and sometimes we turn around look at our lives and think, "how did I get here", wether it's a good or a bad place I think it's worth thinking about. 

I am becoming more me every day but those three moments I mentioned are the moments and the people God used to push me in the right direction.
